Use ReadSpeaker (Text to Speech) to translate course content

  • In this article, we will show you how to use ReadSpeaker, the text to speech feature available in the StrongMind LMS, to translate course content into another language
  • To learn how to use ReadSpeaker in lessons, go here
  1. From your Dashboard, click the course card for the course you want to work in.

  2. Click the Modules tab. For some courses, this may also be the Home tab.
    Then select course content.

  3. Highlight the text you want to translate.
    Then click Translate.

    Select the language you want the text translated into.

  4. Click I Understand.

    Then you can read the translated text. If you want to listen to it, click the play button.

Use ReadSpeaker (Text to Speech) in Exams

  1. From your Dashboard, click the course card for the course you want to work in.

  2. Click the Modules tab. For some courses, this may also be the Home tab.
    Then select an exam.

  3. Click the Play button to listen to the directions on the start page.

    To listen to a question, click the Play button.

    To listen to an answer choice, highlight the text.
    Then click Listen.

Access Google Drive

  1. From your Dashboard, click the course card for the course you want to work in.

  2. Click the Google Drive tab.

  3. Click Authorize on Google.

    In the tab that opens, login to your Google account.

    Click Allow.

    Close the tab once your login is successful.


  4. In the Google Drive tab, click Next.

    Then you will have access to your Google Drive folders and files.

    At this time, StrongMind only supports Google Docs submissions.

Join a conference

  • In this article, we will show you how to join a conference within a course
  1. From your Dashboard, click the course card for the course you want to work in.


  2. Select the Conferences tab.


  3. Under New Conferences, click Join on the conference you want to join.



    Then the conference page will open in a new tab.
    Choose how you’d like to join the audio.



    After your teacher has ended the conference, it will be listed under Concluded Conferences.


Use ReadSpeaker (Text to Speech)

  1. From your Dashboard, click the course card for the course you want to work in.


  2. Click the Modules tab. For some courses, this may also be the Home tab.
    Then select a lesson.


  3. There are two ways to use ReadSpeaker if it’s available for a lesson.
    1. Click Listen at the top of the page.



      Then the text will be read to you. Click the X to close ReadSpeaker.


    2. Highlight the text you want to be read.
      Then click Listen.



      Then the text will be read to you. Click the X to close ReadSpeaker.

View course announcements

  • In this article, we will show you how to view announcements in a course
  1. From your Dashboard, click the megaphone icon on the course card.
    If your courses has new announcements, you’ll see a circle with the number of new announcements on the megaphone icon.


  2. You can also go to the Announcements tab in the course.
    Click an announcement to view it.



    Read your teacher’s announcement. If you’d like to reply to the announcement, click Reply.

Access course files

  • In this article, we will show you how to access course files

Course files are files that your teacher has uploaded for a course. They could be images, videos, or documents that they would like you to access as you work in that course.

  1. From your Dashboard, click the file icon on the course card.
    You can also click the Files tab within the course.



    You will see all the files uploaded for you course.
    To download a file to your computer, click the gear icon next to a file.
    Then click Download.

Access the course syllabus

  • In this article, we will show you how to access the syllabus for a course
  1. From your Dashboard, click the course card for the course you want to view the syllabus for.


  2. Click the Syllabus tab.



    Some courses will have a video that introduces you to the course.
    Read the course description.
    If there’s an external course syllabus, click the link to view it in another tab.

View calendar within a course

  • In this article, we will show you how to view the calendar within a specific course
  • To learn how to view the calendar for all your courses, go here
  1. From your Dashboard, click the course card for the course you want to view the calendar in.


  2. Click the Modules tab. For some courses, the Modules tab may also be the Home tab.
    Then click View Calendar.



    Then you will see a calendar with assignment due dates listed for that courses.
    Any completed assignments will be crossed out.



    To view any assignments that don’t have due dates, click the arrow next to Undated.
